my family came to our place for christmas this year,
so i knew i needed to decorate the house
but i was kind of dreading the whole TREE ordeal...
so we tried something a little UNtraditional.
we decorated the chicken head.
we sang "o chicken head, o chicken head,
how lovely are thy feathers..."
if you've ever been to rosemary beach for halloween
you may recall seeing the chicken head.
that's my husband bobbing for apples seven years ago.
that's the year he made the chicken head costume
and he's worn it every halloween since.
i don't know what posessed him to decide
to be a chicken head that fateful halloween.
but by golly that was his intention
when he went to the fabric store to buy foam and satin.
my mother gave us this awesome chicken head portrait for christmas.
the chicken head resides on a stool in our dining room.
he's like a part of our decor.
to the point where i almost don't even see him,
until someone new comes over to the house and says
"uh... what is that?"
from all of us at Gigi's
including the chicken head!
(yes those are lipstick imprints on his beak)
oh, and this untraditional idea
is totally going to become a tradition...
what UNTRADITIONAL thing do YOU do
during the holidays that has BECOME a tradition?
