it's me ELIZABETH and i want to tell you
about my experience at this year's
MARDI GRAS in NEW ORLEANS!
PARKER is three years old
and loooves to dress up... especially as a princess!
her favorite color is PINK
and she likes princess books, princess movies,
and princesses... in fact when she grows up
she wants to be CINDERELLA!
she takes ballet and tap...
recently she performed a tap routine
in her school's holiday concert!
she loves to accessorize
with necklaces, bracelets, shoes, tiaras,
head bands, purses, and above all, magic wands...
favorite foods include pasta, chocolate,
and chocolate milk...
PARKER goes to montessori school
where she loves learning SPANISH
and she actually enjoys doing homework!
we've known PARKER and her big sister EVA
ever since they were born,
and we always love it when they come to visit!
remember THIS POST...
our whole staff got together for a photo shoot
before our CAITLIN left for college.
well we were so impressed with our photographer,
16 year old COCOA (that's her on the right),
that we recruited her to become
the newest member of the Gigi's team!
you may remember she wrote a guest glob a while back.
i have known her since she was five years old.
this is a picture of the two of us in the children's store
i used to work at in seaside before opening Gigi's.
here is a little more recent shot of the two of us.
she really lives in alabama year round...
but this summer she is excited to live and work here!
she is very creative.
one of her hobbies is decorating her shoes.
and she loves taking pictures...
i think you will start to notice a significant improvement
in the photography on our facebook page
and the glob while she is in town.
here are just a few random (gorgeous) shots of hers
that she has taken just since she started...
so come by and meet miss COCOA in person...
she will be glad to help you with all of your
fabulous kids' fashion and toy needs!
she might even introduce you to her big fancy camera...
it has a name you know... it's lovingly called ISH.
all of us at Gigi's are excited for you guys
to come visit us this summer!
this week's star is LOU!
she doesn't talk much yet,
so i asked her big brother BUD
to tell us a little bit about her,
and here's what he had to say:
my sister lou is one, but she started out ZERO...
her favorite thing is to play with her toy ELMO,
and watch ELMO on television,
and her favorite thing is ELMO!
she is always curious,
she really is.
she switches from one thing to another.
her favorite food is we don't know.
but maybe fruit.
but that could change.
whatever it is, she likes the WHOLE thing.
she does not want it cut up.
she screams her head off
when you change her clothes.
she loves the beach.
she loves the sand.
she has learned not to eat the sand
or put it in her eyes.
and she can say "mommy", "daddy",
thanks for the interview, BUD!
you did great!
the STAR genes definitely run in the family!
this photo is by COCOA.
do you remember my young friend cocoa?
she wrote a guest glob for us last year about photography.
i've known her since she was like 5 or something,
and now she is sixteen!
i've been following her work on her blog, her website,
& her facebook page (links below!)
and am truly amazed by her talent at such a young age.
so when she told me she was coming to the beach
for her spring break,
i hired her up to do a little photo shoot for the store...
the kids loved her!
she made the shoot so fun for them,
like it wasn't even work at all.
she's still a kid too
so she knows how important it is to PLAY!
here are some of the behind the scenes photos that i took
of COCOA and the kids during the shoot.
sugar plays an important role
in getting energetic poses from the kids.
that is my favorite new dress from mimi and maggie, btw.
the kids were under her spell...
they would do anything she asked!
no, this is not a crime scene...
this is cocoa taking a close up of maggie!
how cute is maggie lee!?
love this dress she is wearing by pink tomatina.
henry is being photographed behind her
in monster republic.
sam gets his closeup, wearing wes and willy.
kim and vicki were close by
watching their kids work the camera.
jack, wearing little joules, telling me something profound
while maggie poses behind him in custo barcelona.
vicki is holding haley's baby cromwell (wearing zutano),
it was his first photo shoot!
the kids "working" hard!
how sweet is anderson,
holding emjane's hand!
while we were down on the beach,
this guy caught a pretty impressive fish!
i think he called it a redfish, even though it's white?
maggie lee went all the way up the stairs
without tripping on her dress.
i was impressed because i know i would have.
heading back to Gigi's.
one last look back at the beach.
sigh. so beautiful.
sometimes i can't believe we are really this lucky.
it is so awesome being surrounded
by such beauty at work!
henry and jack look a little bit tired
of being hounded by the paparazzi.
now go see some of HER amazing shots!
YAY KID POWER!!!
Hey Gigi fans, its me, Elizabeth!
I’m back to write another glob!
Just sit back, read, and enjoy!
If you go to Gigi’s it is a great experience.
It is fun, amazing, and awesome!
The star on the dressing room door at Gigi’s is awesome.
It basically turns you into a super star
once they put your name on it!
When you go in the dressing room it is like
your OWN personal dressing room!
The staff members at Gigi’s love to take pictures.
After they take a picture they put you on the wall of fab!
Which makes you feel even more fabulous!
They may even feature you on "the Glob",
or let you WRITE a glob, like me!
The train at Gigi’s isn’t an ordinary train.
It is a Gigi’s train!
Each train car has a different shop on it.
If you go to Gigi’s you will see the train going in circles.
It is really cool!
Thank you for reading my glob!
Hope you enjoyed it!
See you at Gigi's!
(and if you missed my first glob, click here!)
remember meeting JESSICA and BRISTOL?
jessica has started sharing her story
in her OWN blog called LIFE'S JOURNEY...
there has been a lot going on in her life these days.
she now lives on her own in a college dorm,
and soon she must train with a new guide dog
while going through the painful process of
retiring her first guide dog, bristol.
gosh, can you imagine all the emotions
that must come with that?
do you remember jr. globbers MADDIE and ELLIE?
they live part time at the beach and part time in the DALLAS area. they home school so they have mad flexibility. i'm in dallas right now for market so i was so excited when their family invited me over for dinner last night.
their parents are sooo cool. so is their dog.
and their big brother... that's BOBBY.
he is one of those people who knows how to do everything. after dinner he created a recording studio right there by the dining room table so that we could lay down some trax.
this microphone is really cool. it is suspended by bungees so that it is not effected by any movement, or extra back ground noise, or something like that.
ellie gets all serious when it's her turn. she is listening to the music in the earphones, but we only get to hear her voice as she records.
"STOP... collaborate and LISTEN...."
"yo i solve it... ice ice baby.... ice ice baby..."
then bobby plays it back with the music and it sounds really professional. he even added autotune so that ellie sounded all kanye.
it's crazy to imagine how if you just had the right equipment, you could easily be a superstar.
then we did a group number. a little ditty called "baby baby baby" by j biebs. you may have heard of it?
look how ellie mimics mariah carey with her finger in her ear. these girls are song birds. i could not see the lyrics displayed on the computer in front of us through the big ol' honking microphone. i hummed a lot. it was so fun. i want a recording studio now. for real. do you hear that david?
thanks for such a fun night maddie and ellie...
word to your mother.... and father!
it's been a whole YEAR since we started THE GLOB!
here's a look back at just some of the memories...
thank you so much to all of you for reading THE GLOB
and for being a part of our GLOBBINESS...
kids, if you don't see yourself above,
let's make sure we get you in there for next year!
just come by the store and say "CHHEEESSE!"

that's AIDAN with miss krystle.
he's wearing a coon skin cap by the way.
that's not his hair.
recently, when he volunteered to help us sell lemonade at the ALAQUA ANIMAL REFUGE HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE, he caught a glimpse of a blue heeler from across the way. a blue heeler is a type of australian cattle dog. her name was PAISLEY. she was beautiful. she looked at him looking at her. she was available for adoption. they spent some time together and they both fell in love!
i drove aidan home that eve and he talked non stop about the blue heeler he had met. he couldn't wait for his family to meet her. he was so sure that they would all love each other. i didn't know how receptive his parents would be about this idea, so i tried to keep him calm. kids can get so excited about the idea of a new pet, and then crushed when it doesn't work out. so, you know, i tried not to get his hopes up and stuff.
imagine how surprised i was the very next night when i got a call from ALAQUA doing the routine background check that they do everytime a family adopts from them. aidan's family had decided to adopt the dog and listed me as a reference! i was sooo excited... just like aidan had been on the drive home! it was safe to get our hopes up for the blue heeler after all! yayy!
here are AIDAN and his sisters posing with PAISLEY, the blue heeler, at the refuge. aidan told me that when he took his family back to meet her, that she came to them and laid on her back to have her tummy petted... she was so sweet... then when it was time for her to go back to the kennel, she didn't want to leave aidan's side. he walked her back and said "don't worry, we'll be back for you, girl!"
a few days later, the family went back to alaqua animal refuge to take her home! AIDAN said that all the staff members at the refuge were really nice and gave lots of personal service. they made the whole adoption process very pleasant. he highly recommends you try it!
once in her new home, PAISLEY got to meet the family's other dog, TEX. he is also a blue heeler adopted from alaqua. aidan said they became good friends right away! he said paisley thinks she has died and gone to heaven because she just seems so happy!
AIDAN told me he knew he wanted another blue heeler because they are such playful dogs and (i quote) sooo awesome. he also wanted me to tell you that if YOU are looking for a sweet dog, to please go meet DUCHESS if she is still available at alaqua animal refuge. because she is also sooo awesome!
