so i am back home in florida now,
(sitting with my pups... they say HI!)
and wanted to share some pics with you
of our second day at TOY FAIR in new york city...
it's actually snowing in this photo...
i know it's hard to see...and it didn't stick,
but it was really cool to us floridians nonetheless...
i absolutely loved playing with this building toy...
LaQ is pronounced "la cue" and was very addictive...
had a very satisfying *snap* when you put them together
and you can make headbands with ears!!
the verdict is still out on this:
could totally see this in rosemary beach...
it's a very cool light show for your bike's tires.
changes constantly, has a remote control to program it.
but thinkin it MAY be too expensive...
what do you think about spending close to $100 per wheel?
let me know in comments please!
i am slightly obsessed...
these pretty little fairies flutter their wings
and magically fly all around you...
it really is like a magic trick and i can't wait to show you!
this ufo is the magical version for boys...
this gentleman pictured with david is also named david
and he invented the "my friendship bracelet maker"
after his granddaughters (that's one of them in the middle)
tried to teach him how to make friendship bracelets
and they all got frustrated with the tangly mess.
coming soon to Gigi's!
okay i was soooo starstruck at this booth!
this is none other than RUFUS BUTLER SEDER
the artist/inventor/mastermind behind the scanimation art
featured in the books "gallop", "swing", and "waddle"!
(and soon even a "star wars" book!)
(if you haven't seen them, we have them at Gigi's, come take a look.
his art works appear to come to life and move almost like animation!)
so now he has a really cool kit that allows kids
to make their own animation art!
it's called "strobotop" and we will have it this summer!
we found kits called "CRAZY CHINS" (LOL!)
that include face paint and decals to stick on your chins
then you turn upside down to put on an elaborate show!
or for a modern twist you can just video tape yourself
right side up and then turn the VIDEO upside down.
we loved meeting this mother and daughter duo
kitte and shannon... shannon is an artist and art teacher
and she invented these art projects which make
high art techniques and materials accessible to kids...
our favorite was the print making kit shown above...
wouldn't you let your kids decorate the whole house
with this kit!? stunning results!
another celebrity sighting...
from the makers of BANANAGRAMS
comes APPLETTERS a spelling dominoes game...
david is hypnotized by the giant perplexus...
we will have the handheld version at Gigi's
(see previous "toy fair" post)
and we leave you with parting shots of new york city's
times square... here is david posing with corbin bleu...
(if you are a kid, you of course know who that is...
he is now performing on broadway in "in the heights"!)
and me in front of the newly redesigned TKTS booth...
oh, and see the hersheys store is over on the left!
