recently, my husband and i
visited BERLIN for the first time...
what an incredible city! we loved it!
so much art and history at every turn...
and lots of family oriented kid friendly fun too!
we happened upon this children's festival one day
celebrating nature and organic foods.
it was a little bit drizzly that day,
but not too gray to enjoy the festivities.
as usual, i took a lot of pictures...
LGB train display...
this is the brand we have running on the tracks at Gigi's!
some young dancers taking a break
between performances on the main stage.
a different kind of train layout...
kids were each given a car
that they could control along the track...
horse back riding in the city...
pretty balloons!
lassoing "cows" for prizes...
scouts roasting what we thought were
marshmallows in a camp fire...
on closer inspection we realized,
they were actually baking BREAD on those sticks!
fun obstacle course.
i think that's PIPPI LONGSTOCKING!
one of the booths taught kids
to make these bright dream catcher crafts.
very german photo op.
this looked like fun.
dancers warming up.
ok, this was a riot...
this HUGE paint brush is suspended by a big ol' crane.
lots of paint on stand by...
children took turns "aiming"
the floating paintbrush towards a canvas...
while this gentleman moved the canvas
ever so slightly under the paint brush
creating pretty elaborate scenes,
all the while, letting the kid take credit for the art.
she felt like a true artist...
using a gigantic magic paintbrush!
5, 6, 7, 8...
not so sure you should try this at home!
this booth encouraged kids to climb crates,
while continuously adding more to the stack
creating very dangerous heights!
the boy is wearing a harness,
but his life was in this random stranger's hands!
i was impressed at how high he got before he fell,
and he looked like he had a lot of fun!
here's a young mountain climber!
a fun fishing game...
super cute ice cream treats!
main stage... these kids could dance!
they had hay stacks set up everywhere
so even the littlest audience members
could get a glimpse of the stage!
these were the biggest scarecrows i've ever seen!
they had flowers growing on their heads
instead of hair!
speaking of scarecrows...
tomorrow in rosemary beach,
the OHANA INSTITUTE'S SCARECROW LANE
starts going up!
businesses and families create intricate scarecrows
and they will be on display throughout the town center
saturday and sunday...
make sure and stroll through town to see these...
they were amazing last year...
can't wait to see this year's crazy creations!
