haven't blogged much this week
because i'm still recovering from the big
30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL weekend!
saw so many wonderful artists performing
up and down 30A in a variety of lovely venues.
you should come next year, it's incredible!
and they added a few kid friendly shows this year:
the OHANA INSTITUTE is a school in rosemary beach
and they offer ROCK BAND class!
the kids learn to play instruments, how to write songs,
how to work together to create the sound they want...
it's really impressive.
there are several different rock bands
all made up of different combinations of students...
i saw them perform their winter concert back in december,
and then i got to catch them all again
doing a show at the rosemary beach town hall
during the 30ASWF, which is BIG TIME!
and you could say i'm a groupie.
here are some pics of their 30ASWF show,
taken by COCOA.
i always love it when i see big celebrities
wearing outfits from Gigi's!
after OHANA was done,
up next came grammy nominated artists
PETER COOPER and ERIC BRACE
to perform songs from their new
"music for kids of all ages" album called
I LOVE: TOM T. HALL'S SONGS OF FOX HOLLOW.
the album is really sweet,
filled with songs about kids visiting a farm,
about being kind to animals,
about making friends...
and the cd comes with a coloring book
with all the lyrics brought to life...
it's available at Gigi's in the store and on the website!
my favorite band of the festival this year and last...
THE SHADOWBOXERS.
you must experience them...
they are so talented
and they have such a wide variety of fans...
young screaming preteens,
old people like me (also screaming),
even my dad started following them around...
we all love them!
