once again, i got some of my young friends together
to put on a little show for the annual
SOUTH WALTON HOLIDAY PARADE
which took place last saturday on 30A.
we got a little creative with our song choice again...
(do you remember last year's routine...
we used journey's "don't stop believin"
and flo rida's "low"?)
i find it difficult to find danceable christmas songs,
so i took a pop song and added christmasy lyrics.
this time we chose the song "good time"
by owl city and carly rae jepsen...
we wore pjs because our newly created song
was about kids waiting for santa on christmas eve.
our singers were ELLIE and HANNAH...
they are really good at singing in front of lots of people
because they both are members of rock bands
as part of their school curriculum at OHANA INSTITUTE.
they were awesome!
here are some of the christmasy lyrics they sang:
"almost time for us kids to go to bed,
with visions of sugarplums inside our head,
santa claus is coming to town tonight,
cuz it's almost christmas time...
good morning and good night,
i hope that you sleep tight,
cuz then in the morning light,
santa's gifts are piled high,
it's almost christmas time!"
before going to the parade route,
we performed our routine once on main street
in front of gigi's for the rosemary beach crowd...
then we headed over to seagrove for the parade...
as we were preparing for the parade to start,
we got to meet someone very special!
we got to meet SANTA and MRS. CLAUS
who were also there waiting for the parade to start!
then we headed down 30A, smiling and waving,
passing out beads and candy to the happy crowd!
once we arrived in SEASIDE town center,
we performed our routine...
brodie's signature move...
the boys love to freestyle...
here's our cast of characters...
hannah, caitlin, henry, emj, maggie,
morgan, brodie, gg, and ellie!
so proud of them for helping spread christmas cheer
to the 30A community...
hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving weekend,
and here's to a fantastic christmas and new year!
huge thank you to our incredibly talented
and very energetic photographer miss cocoa
of COCOA L. PHOTOGRAPHY...
she pretty much jogs (and dances)
the entire length of the parade route
while capturing these images... whew!
there will be video of our routine coming soon...
when i get a copy of it i will be sure to share it.
meanwhile, you can subscribe
to the gigisfabkids youtube channel
to see past routines and to be sure
you don't miss the new one when it's posted!
